2013

Martinez competed in five meets this season and posted season bests at three meets. At the Trinity Relay, he had his best run in the 5K, finishing in a time of 15:18.42 and followed it up with a time of 4:17.99 in the 1500 at Texas State. Martinez had his best time in the 3000, finishing in 9:26.77.

2012 (Junior)

Sam finished second in the 5000m run at the SCAC Championships with a time of 15:44.33. Martinez was named to the SCAC All-Sportsmanship team.

2011 (Sophomore)

Martinez came in fifth place in the 5000 meter run at the SCAC Championships with a time of 15:37.28, earning four points for the Pirates. He also finished in 22nd in the 10,000 in 37:40.89. Martinez set two new SU records this season, 15:14.46 in the 5K and 32:52.84 in the 10K.

2010 (First-year)

Sam placed 6th at the SCAC Championships in the 5000m run with a time of 15:49.78. At the Trinity Alumni Classic he recorded the 9th fastest time for the SCAC in 2010 in the 5000m with a time of 15:38.18.

High School

Martinez was a member of the Brahma cross country team.

Personal

Sam is the son of Carlos and Sarah and has one sibling, Gabe.  Sam has not declared a major or a minor.
